Prof. Tiziana Laureti is the Rector of the University of Tuscia and a Full Professor of Economic Statistics. A leading figure in the field of official statistics, she has dedicated her career to advancing methodologies for measuring economic well-being, inequality, and poverty.
She previously served on COMSTAT, the governing body of the Italian National Statistical System, appointed by the Prime Minister of Italy, where she coordinated national initiatives linking data and indicators to higher-education funding policies. Renowned for her methodological expertise and innovative use of new data sources, Prof. Laureti has collaborated with Istat, the Bank of Italy, and Eurostat on poverty measurement, statistical uncertainty, and the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP). She also contributes to the World Bank’s International Comparison Program on international price comparisons. An elected Member of the International Statistical Institute, she has been an invited speaker at high-level conferences organized by the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Before becoming Rector, she held several leadership roles at the University of Tuscia, including Director of the Department of Economics, Engineering, Society and Business (DEIM) and Rector’s Delegate for Educational Evaluation and Industry Relations.
